Number of Building Permits Issued - 7 Year Trend

The following chart shows building permits issued for single family housing in the metropolitan area. Building permits are not only a direct indicator of housing planned for construction, but also an indirect indicator of the perceptions of the local builders and developers of the relevant strength of the economy in the near future. In the case of the chart below the dashed blue line indicates the three year trend of building permits issued in the metropolitan area. It is important to remember, that in most cases building permits tend to be strongest at the beginning of the calendar year as developers are preparing their inventory for the summer months (still the strongest buying time for prospective home owners). Average Valuation of Building Permits Issued - 7 Year Trend

The following chart shows the average valuation of building permits issued for single family housing in the metropolitan area. Building permits average valuation indicates the average actual value of planned construction. In the case of the chart below the dashed blue line indicates the three year trend of building permit's average value issued in the metropolitan area.
